My published work thus far has focused on China’s corporate governance system, state capitalism, and party-state-market relations. My articles were published or are forthcoming in leading international law and comparative law journals, including the American Journal of Comparative Law, the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law, the Columbia Journal of Asian Law, and USALI Perspectives.
My recent book, Law & Political Economy in China: The Role of Law in Corporate Governance and Market Growth, Cambridge University Press (2023), analyzes the legal and political-economic constructs of China’s corporate development and capital market growth. It sets the stage for applying law & political economy theory to understanding China's growth puzzle. More information about the book is available here.
My current research projects look at U.S.-China financial decoupling and examine various implications on the global flow of finance to/from Chinese firms.
